At Canal Coffee Company, we’re always looking for ways to support creativity in our communities, especially when it means helping students gain real-world experience.

Recently, we had the opportunity to be a part of a University of South Carolina public relations student event, where the students focused on building their skills in food and drink photography through hands-on experience. 

 

Coffee Meets Creativity

For this event, our Columbia, SC locations came together to supply a variety of Canal Coffee Co. drinks and food items for students to use as their subjects.

Instead of just talking about content creation, students were able to:

• Practice styling food and drinks for photos
• Experiment with lighting, angles, and composition
• Build portfolio-ready content
• Gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting

And let’s be honest, coffee makes a pretty great model.

This event was made possible by the collective support of our four Columbia-area Canal Coffee Co. locations, working together to bring the full Canal Coffee experience to campus.

From handcrafted drinks to fresh food items, students had a wide range of products to work with, giving them flexibility to get creative and try new ideas.

It’s always special to see our locations come together like this to support something bigger than the day-to-day.
